Lots of competition out there these days! How many photographers on Long Island shooting portraits in 2024? Way way more than we had in the heydays of the 90s up until digital cameras became “good enough”. Sadly, the term “good enough” was also tied to the RESULTS from those cameras and photo sessions. Folk turned from experienced photographers to barely photographers, for one reason or another, probably cost, and figured, yeah, “it’s good enough”. Ok, rant over = )

Here’s a chance to level up your portraits: Schedule a 2-hour session in June Jacobsen’s Studio, bring your camera and your subject. June will coach and guide you during the session to produce the best portraits possible, with lighting, props, creativity, and insight gained from operating a studio since 1984. The photos are yours. You might bring your child/children, a friend, a model, whomever you would like to not only practice on, but end up with beautiful portraits. Check out the garden images, as we can also plan to shoot out there, though the timing is trickier since it is weather-dependent and later afternoon is the best time to shoot (unless it’s cloudy, creating a very large ‘light box’ above us).

Sessions are limited, as June is still using the studio for her own shoots, as she celebrates 40 Years in the business. It’ll be a fun session, packed with learning, and tips and tricks from the Master Photographer.
