Communion Portraits on Long IslandOnly 4 quick weeks left to winter, quick because it’s been a mild winter (Yay!), and as much as I love SNOW (and do miss it), I was happy to only have to drip my faucets to avoid bursting pipes maybe 10 nights this season. But we usually have a ‘snow storm’ on St. Patty’s Day every year (I know, crazy, right?!), so the snow shovel may come out yet. On to matters of Portrait Sessions! Springtime here at the studio has actually been more about Communion Portraits than other types of sessions; it really has been a specialty, and a great many wall portraits and albums have been created at the studio since its doors opened in 1984. It’s the combination of great lighting, appropriate propping and background, excellent posing, and directing the expression of the child that produces images that are what I call… Wall Worthy, and not just 8x10s. They are painterly, artistic, evocative; perfectly creating a piece of art to commemorate this milestone in your child’s life.
Most of my clients prefer the look and styling of in-studio portraits for this event. A few over the years have chosen to work out in the garden later on in Spring or Summer for a more casual look. Either is fine by me, and the outdoor sessions typically begin in late May, as the garden and greenery are coming into their own by then. Please check out the Children Gallery on this website for more examples of Communion Portraits as well as all the other ages and styles. Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous Winter’s End!
